Hemsby Allotments and Leisure Gardeners Association

The Association was formed at a meeting in the Village Hall on the 16th July 2009. Karen Kenny of the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners ( NSALG ) was the guest speaker. Tony Pitchford, Secretary of the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Allotments Association and members of the Parish Council were special guests. Those wishing to have allotments agreed to form the new Association to further the interests of allotment and leisure gardeners in Hemsby. The yearly membership of £5 was agreed. It was also agreed to seek the support of the NSALG by applying for group membership for the new association. A constitution was agreed and officers and committee were elected. A date of Wednesday the 29th July at 8:00 pm was agreed for the first committee meeting.
